The PROFIBUS connector connects to PROFIBUS cable via screw terminals in the connector. This method ensures long-term conductivity and trouble-free operation of the connector. If the connector is located at either of the two ends of the segment (i.e. the first or the last station), make sure its terminating resistor is on (the "ON" position). If it's located elsewhere (i.e. the connector interconnects incoming (A1, B1) and outgoing (A2, B2) bus lines), the terminating resistor has to be switched off (the "OFF" position).
